This is where your coaching journey starts. The introductory session is designed to give us a clear picture of who you are as a bowler—your physical game, your current equipment, and your personal goals. Whether you're a developing league bowler or a seasoned competitor, this session sets the foundation for real improvement.
What’s Included:
We’ll also ask: What’s the biggest issue you think you’re facing? What would you like to work on?
This isn’t to let the athlete steer the session, but to better understand how they see their own game. As the coach, I’ll identify the key issues that need to be addressed and explain why. From there, we’ll create a strategy that aligns with your long-term goals—whether that’s winning your local league, making a regional cut, or just becoming a more consistent player.
The result: a clear, customized path forward based on your needs, your game, and the realities of where you're at right now.
We also offer a remote video analysis version of this session. You’ll send in your footage, answer a short questionnaire, and receive a detailed breakdown with recommendations, voiceover feedback, and a follow-up Q&A.
This is where real progress happens. Based on what we learn in your Introductory Session, this program focuses on consistent, structured development built around your actual needs—not cookie-cutter drills or over-coaching.
What’s Included:
How it works: You’ll attend regular coaching sessions—weekly or biweekly depending on your pace and goals. Assignments and focus points are given between sessions. Everything is tracked.
In-person and hybrid remote options are available.
If you want to make meaningful, lasting improvements and you’re ready to put in the work, this is where it happens. League bowler, tournament competitor, youth athlete—it’s built around your reality.
This program is built for bowlers competing at a higher level—whether that’s elite league, college, or tournament circuits. The focus isn’t just throwing it better—it’s learning how to win.
What’s Included:
We’ll study how you read the lanes, when and why you make moves, and how your equipment lines up with your intent. From video review to arsenal tuning, this is an end-to-end performance audit.
Expect deep feedback. If you want someone to sugarcoat your weaknesses, look elsewhere. This is for bowlers who want to be held accountable and raise their game when it matters most.
This is where talent meets accountability. If you want to go from “almost there” to “consistently in contention,” this is the work that gets you there.
I work with all levels—from beginners to seasoned tournament players. Sessions are tailored to your experience.

Hi, I’m Coach Paul—a lifelong bowler, USBC Silver Certified Coach, IBPSIA Certified Pro Shop Technician, and proud Brand Ambassador for MOTIV Bowling.
I currently live near Portland, Oregon, and can be found at Tigard Bowl most days of the week—working with bowlers, testing equipment, or getting in a few games myself.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of representing my country at international events, including a Senior World Championship and two Senior European Championships.
I’ve won over 25 tournaments worldwide, from state championships to a national title, and recently made the cut at the 2024 USBC Senior Masters.
I know firsthand the highs, lows, and everything in between that this incredible game can throw at you.
I’m a bowler, just like you, and I understand the excitement, pressure, and challenges that come with competing.
Bowling is a journey, and I’d be honored to be part of yours.
Bowling is a game of constant adjustments, not perfection. My coaching philosophy starts with building a solid foundation, both physical and mental fundamentals. From there, we refine what already works, and strengthen what doesn’t.
The real challenge in bowling isn’t making the perfect shot — it’s being able to score when you don’t.
This philosophy comes from years of bowling with and coaching players at all levels. One of the most common patterns I’ve seen is bowlers obsessing over small executional differences between a strike and a non-strike.
“It was just a board off,” “I got around it too much,” “It was a little fast”—sound familiar?
The truth is, perfection is rare—and often overrated. If your ability to strike depends on everything being exactly right, you’re playing with no margin. That’s why finding miss room is critical—not just on the lane, but in your physical game too.
The real solution is rarely to be more perfect. It’s to find an area where you can be a little imperfect and still strike. In other words: miss somewhere else.
Progress from Day One
From our first session, the focus is on building confidence and creating improvement without dismantling your strengths.
Miss Room Isn’t Just About Accuracy
Your game should have built-in margin for real-life variables—speed, rotation, tilt, release. The goal is to succeed even when execution isn’t perfect.
Simple Game. Smart Adjustments.
Bowling doesn’t have to be complicated. If the ball hooks too much, find oil. If it doesn’t hook enough, find friction. Learn to read the lanes, keep your game simple, and your decisions sharp.
